    !He was born in Ind.and then moved with his folks to Iowa until 1860 when they crossed the plains to Stockton,Calif.They spent the first year on the Peter Clapp Ranch,next year moved to a cattle ranch,3 miles west of Ripon.The 1880 census say s he was 48 years old,this makes him b.1832.I show him married to 2 Nancy Underwoods,there is a disagreement over her parents,I preffer the 2nd one,it is from the Hughes records.WJP Hughes records says he is buried in Park View,I kno w some Ripon graves were moved to Park View ? WJP

    !Duncan has been a mystery,I have felt he was related to Benjamin G Frederick because when Harrison Fredericks
    first wife died,Benjamin showed up with a wife and a much younger sister-in-law who married Harrison.Harrison and his first wife Sarah Dirst are my Great Grand-Parents,Sarah's brother John married Eldora Hughes. WJP A note in hughe s file,"Duncan Mac Carty Frederick,born in Ohio.He was a pioneer farmer of his native state of Ohio.Where he passed away.Leaving his widow and 3 small boys.He married Lucinda Beatley,born 28 Dec 1817,Ohio.She died 28 May 1898,age 81 years,5 month s and 1 day. She is buried in Ripon Cem. in Nutt Plot.She married Eliza Nutt."He died 1884,age 74 years.
