Henry's brother, John Prather, was married to a Dorcas Call.
Dorcas may have been John Prathers 2nd. wife. ???

"To the Honorable Judge of the Bourbon Circuit Court in Chancery sitting,
sheweth unto your honor, your orator Joseph Prather. That sometime since, his
father, James Prather, departed this life intestate, leaving your orator,
Jeremiah Prather, Jonathan, John, Bazil, Henry, Isaac, James, Mary Ann,
Catharine and Nancy Prather, his children & heirs-at-law, and Eleanor his
widow, all of whom, except your orator, are prayed to be defendants of this
bill. He would futher show that his father at the time of his death was
possessed of a tract of land in Bourbon County, containing about 240 acres,
which descends equally to his children aforesaid & that no division thereof
has ever been made, Forasmuch as your orator, at common law & properly
receivable in equity, he prays that the defendants may answer the allegation
of this bill upon their corporal oaths as fully as if the same was here again
repeated by interrogatory & that your honor will decree that a division of
said land be made amongst the children of said James Prather, deceased, & that
dower be assigned said widow & grant such other further relief as to equity
belongs."

In 1806 James Prather bought a parcel of land on Hinkston Creek in Bourbon
Co. from Philemon Thomas, who lived in Mason Co., Ky.
According to the 1810 census, James was born before 1765. His wife, Elinor,
was born in 1766 in Pa.

James Prather was born in Maryland and moved his family to Harrison Co., Va.
(which is now Randolph Co., W.VA.) and later to the area that is the corner of
Bourbon, Bath and Nicholas Counties, KY. (Census Records)

James married Elinor Humble Tharp Prob. Maryland or Va.. Elinor was born 1766, ,,Pa; died Aft 1850, ,Vermillion, Il. [Group Sheet]

She was living with her daughter Mary Ann (Prather) Hewitt in the 1850 census.
We are not sure of her last name, other researchers have stated her name as
Unk. I have often wondered if this was short for the word "Unknown" and
was misunderstood by someone reading the old records. G.B.Prather
Other reseachers have reported that her last name could have been Tharpe &
she had Indian in her blood line. I have found no documents that indicate her
last name or blood line. G.B.Prather

Jeremiahs Will recorded in Fayette Co., Ky. reads as follows:

"in the name of God Amen, I Jeremiah Prather of the county of Fayette and
state of Kentucky, being weak of body but of perfect mind & memory, Thanks be
given unto God, Calling unto mind the mortality of my bidy & knowing that it
is appointed for all men once to die, do make & ordain this my last will and
testament. That is to say, principally & first of all, I give & recommend my
soul into the hand of the almight God that gave it, & my body I recommend to
the Earth to be buried in decent Christiam burial at the discretion of my
wife. Nothing doubting but at the General resurrection I shall receive the
same again, by the mighty power of God & His teaching. Such worldly Estate
wherwith it has pleased God to bless me in this life, I give, devise & dispose
of the same in the following manner & form.
First of all it is my desire that my just debts should be paid; I give &
bequeath to Anna Prather, my dearly beloved wife, the whole of my estate, both
real & personal, and I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke & disannul all &
every other former Testaments, Wills, Legacies (ic), Bequests & Executors by
me in any wise before named willed & bequeathed. Ratifying & confirming this &
no other to be my last will & testament. In witmess whereof I have herunto set
my hand & seal this ninth day of Sept. in the year of our Lord, 1806.
