    His step father (listed as Guardian) made application for Richard to recieve
    money from the Eastern Cherokee Fund.
    RE: Eastern Cherokee Indians by the Act of Congress approved June 30 1906, in
    accordance with the decrees of the Court of Claims of May 18, 1905, and May
    28, 1906.

    Richards claim was #25076 dated June, 15 1907. He was listed at age
    18. Born 15 July, 1889.
    Application was made by his step-father and legal guardian, John M. Ware.
    John M. Ware also made application for himself and his children under the
    same claim.

    PIONEER CITIZEN PASSES
    Mrs. hattie Ann ware died at her home here in Grove, after several months
    illness. A resident of northeast Oklahoma all her live, she was born in what
    is now Delaware Co. in 1867 and lived near vinita for 40 years. It was in
    Craig Co. that she raised a family of 6 children, all living at this time.
    They arre Mrrs. Callie Cunningham, and Richard Prather, both of Tulsa; Mrs.
    O.D. Blackwell, Nowata, Okla.; Mrs. Robert Arms, Newkirk, Okla.; Mrs. Henry
    McHaffie, of Sulphur Sprrings, Ark and Edward of tulsa.
    Mrs. Warre is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Jim Walker and Mrs. Newt Turner,
    both of Grove, and Mrs. Fannie hampton of Santa ana, Calif. and 9 grrand
    children and 7 grreat grand children.
    Mrs. Ware was a live ling member of the meth. church and held faithfully to
    her devotion to God.
    she was preceded in death by her husband John m. ware in 1933.

    Notes:

    Her father was Edward Stewart died 14 May, 1832 and his wife died 13 Aug.,
    1838. Edward Stewart and wife Mary McPherson were married ca. 1782.
    Edward was a Revolutionary war soldier in Capt. Peter Houston's Co. in Col.
    Shelby's regiment of North Carolina troops.
    All of this data was sent to the war department on 28 Jan., 1854 by
    William Praytor and his wife Nancy Stewart Praytor (Nancy was a daughter of
    Edward Stewart).

    They also stated that others in the family were Henry, John, Thomas, Spencer,
    Elizabeth, James, Joseph, and Samuel.
    James Stewart had a son James Jr. and Joseph Stewart also had a son named
    James. (These were not children or descendants of Edward Stewart but stated as
    members of the family.

    Their application was rejected because Edward Stewart was shown living in 1840
    Davie Co., N.C. and was recieving his pension.
    Mary and William may not have known he was still alive, as they were living in
    Union Co., Ga. at the time or Edwards death may not have been reported to the
    War Dept. and others in the family living in Davies Co., N.C. continued
    collecting his pension.

    Edward Stewart was mentioned in the Will of William McPherson of Orange Co.,
    N.C. which was proved in Feb. 1818 (Orange Co., Wills D:517) McPherson
    referred to Mary and Edward Stewart as "my children".
