Married Sarah Prather in Washington Co. Kentucky on 12-26-1807 by the same

    Breckenridge Co. Archives G-242

According to his son Washington's death certificate they were in Tazwell
County llinois by 1832 from Breckinridge County Kentucky.

This is further supported by a puchace of land by William Dunbar in
    Tazwell Co. on 04-18-1831.

1834 Moved to Knox Co. Ill. from Tazwell Co. Illinois.

Founded the town Lafayette Illinois named after one of his sons LaFayette
pronounced "Layfayette" no connection to the french it is believed he had
seven children The Dunbar Farm was purchaced from Michael Fraker now
located in Stark Co. SW 1/4 of section 18 in Goshen Twp. The Walnet Grove
on the property is known as Frakers Grove. He Gave his land to his son
LaFayette and went with the gold seekers to California in the 1849 Gold

William not William P or William C. William was a hatter.

    care for Sarah Prather Dunbar.

Sarah died shortly after arriving in Kansas without William Dunbar. She is
buried at the Twin Springs Cemetery at Scott Twp, Linn, Kansas.

I assume William went off to California to the gold rush before 1858 since
there is no mention of him in Isaac's obituary. He probably died en route
    or in California.

William,s son LaFayette was the first Dunbar land owner in Twin Springs,
Scott Twp, Linn County, Kansas in 1857. LaFayette declared 2 acres of his
land to be a Public Buring Ground Forever and deeded the land to the
county. William probably left Kansas at that time for California.
