    Notes:

    Albert was a Private in Comlpany F, 39th Indiana Volunteers, in 1863 became
    the 8th Indiana Cavalry.
    Albert was discharged after 3 yrs. enlistment on 23 Sept., 1864.
    He had been severely injured earlier and never completely recovered;
    he was granted a Pension in 1875 and died shortly after.
    When he died his children were raised by aunts and other family members.

    Albert and his cousin Basil R. Prather enlisted at the same time and both
    became privates in the same company.
    Basil R. Prather died on Dec. 19, 1864 while in the hospital in Annoplis, Md.

    Notes:

    John was called John Jr. to help distinguesh him from his uncle John Prather.
    He owned what was called "Judge William Prather's undershot Mill on Six Mile
    Creek.
    Family tradition states the mill changed hands several times then finally came
    into the possession of John Prather.
    He made various changes in the old structure, so many as to leave it "almost
    unrecongnizable by them who had seen it last." He attached a saw mill; for a
    number of years he did a very large business, but at last the old mill was
    abandoned.

    Basil was taken from Rockville, Md. to Rowan Co., N.C. by his parents as a
    young boy. He later married there and then went to Clark Co., Ind. where his
    parents had moved.
    What was "Clarks Grant" after the Rev. War in Indiana became Clark Co., Ind.
