He was in Tate Co., Miss. in the 1880 census, but by 1884 we find him living
in Little Rock, Ark.
When he was recorded living in Miss., records spelled his name Prather, Prator
and Praythor.
In the 1880 Miss. census, the census taker spelled his name as J.J. Praither.

Notes:
He is recorded in the Hempstead Co., Ark. "History of Ark."
He is shown as M.C.Prather.......... the "M" may have been a typo or he may
have had the name William M. Columbus Prather ....... other records also show
him as William M.C. Prather and M.C.Prather.
He was a staunch member of the Royal Arch Masons.
The name "Marion" is a name which is used often in this branch as well as
other branches of the family............ his full name may have been
William Marion Columbus Prather ?????
Additional research is required, but we may never know if the "M" was a
"nick name" or his birth name.
In the 1850 Elbert Co., Ga. census his sister Catherine "Kate" M. Prather
was living in his household. She is listed at age 21.
