Notes - He was one of the major founders of Sierra High School and served as
Secretary of the Board of Education for years in Prather, CA.
He also founded the township of Prather, CA. and donated land to
the U.S. Postoffice which he caused to be opened when the township
of Prather was founded.
The first Postoffice (1915) was located on the Prather Brothers Lodge Ranch
which was established about 1912 by Joseph E. and his brother Fred Prather.
Joseph devoloped Apple Orchard farming in the area.
His father was known as having the largest wheat farm in California
and owned most of the valley area from Prather, CA. to Fresno, CA.
