- Will of Tabitha J. Prather, Meriwether Co., GA.
In the name of GOD-Amen, I, Tabitha j. Prather, being now afflicted, but of
sound mind and memory, knowing that I must shortly depart this life, deem it
right and proper, both as respects family and myself, that I should make a
disposition of the property, with which a kind providence has blessed me.
I do therefore make this my last Will and Testament.
1st.: I give to my brother, Richard Prather, to have during his natural life,
sixty-eight acres and a half, more or less, being of lot No. 144; and at his
death, be divided equally among my brothers and sisters, or their heirs.
Also my bed clothes to brother Richard, and it is also my will, that said
property go immediately into possession of the said Richard Prather, and that
William Sims shall keep said land until a lease that he has on it, for five
years, given May 28, 1888.
Witness my hand and seal.
This May 28, 1888. T.J. Prather in presence of: J.G.Sims, J.C.Sims.

B.T. Morelan, JP Meriwether Co., State of Georgia: January 3rd 1894 in the
fear of God, in whom I trust for mercy & salvation, I, Tabitha Jane Prather

that I will not get well of my sickness, desire to add the following condition
to my last Will and Testament, which is on the opposite page - it is my will,
that should my brother Richard die before my sister Mary, that my property be
not sold till Mary's death, but to remain in Mary's possession, and the
proceeds of the same to go to her support till her death, then to be divided
among my brothers and sisters & their heirs; Also should Mary die before
Richard, the same conditions to be carried out in Richards favor.
Also the deed I & Mary will make W.H. Sims, to eighteen & one half acres of
land for building us a tenant house shall stand.
