son,and heir of his brother;Visit.1623;aet.34,1601;proved his father's will,13 Nov.1601.Was Patron of the Living of
Pertwood.Will dated 13 Feb 1632;pr.1633.Doesn't mention children,yea or nay.In his father's will he was a devisee
of a house at Hindon,and was appointed residuary legatee and eexecutor,and proved the will.Thomas Marvin was one of those Gentlemen who preffered to pay a money composition rather than be Knighted at the coronation of Charles I.The patronage of th e Rectory of Pertwood was vested in him and in 1631 he exercised it in favor of his nephew,Richard Mervyn,afterwards D.D.and Chancellor of Exeter Cathedral,the founder of the Devonshire Branch of the family.
