!son and heir,Lord of Dudley.Certified his Barony as consisting of 50 fees,1166.(Lib.Rub.Scacc.fo 95 Staffs).He
joined in the rebellion of Henry the younger against King Henry II,and in 1175 ,his castle of Dudley was demolished(Jorevall,1085 n 30;R.de Diceto.588 n 20). The next year,however,he gave a fine of 500 marks to the King as a peace offering.(Rot.Pi p.22 Hen.2.Staffs.).In 1187 he confirmed to the Monks of Marmautier at Tickford,
near Newport,all the grants of Ralph his father anf Fulke his grandfather.(Mon.Ang.II.910b n 10).He witnessed with his wife and son,the Charter of Fulke Paynell of Bampton to the same Monastery.(Ibid 912a n 10).Present
at the first Coronation of Richard I.3rd Sep.1189.Founded Dudley Priory.Staffs.which had been contemplated by
Ralph his father..He m.Isabel,widow of Simon de St Liz,Earl of Huntingdon,and dau.of Robert de Beaumont Earl of Leicester.(Mon.Ang.II.910 n 10).and by her had issue.Robert.
