  John was born in Trenton, Tx. which is just north of Leonard, Tx. where his brother George Norris Prather and other members of his family are buried. John probably recieved his middle name from the Parker family which owened large farms in the area. The Prathers probably worked for or were in business with the Parkers. John moved west and died in Tulia, Tx.
