  He was called Lucas or Luke because he was born in Lucas Co., IA. He is also often referred to as L.C. Prather. THE ARLINGTON TIMES 8 July, 1899 L.C. Prather, of Oso, who has been an inmate of Providence hospital, Seattle, for several weeks, suffering with softening of the brain, due to excessive worry and loss of his son, Frank Prather, died Wednesday afternoon. The remains were brought to Arlington Thursday by his son-in-law Duncan McGillvaray, and the interment occured at Oso yesterday at about 2 o'clock, J.R. Setser officiating. This additional bereavement, added to the family's already heavy weight of sorrow, entitles them to the sincerest sympathy of all who are acquainted with their afflications.
