Zach & Eliz. left Newberry in 1810 and made the trip to Ohio in 37 days to
the Quaker settlement at Waynesville. Eliz. had been a Quaker and her family
left Newberry in 1807. The Quakers were opposed to slavery.
We have found no indication that Zach became a Quaker.
