  	From Paul Randolph Clark: My grandmother, Rachel Annette Sumner, was born July 31, 1896. She was the 3rd child of Mary Ellen Montgomery Carter and B. F. Sumner. Her daughter, Nancy Jane Hilt, born August 25, 1922, was my mother. The Carters of Blenheim, by George Selden Wallace and published in 1955, is a treasure trove of the Carter clan from John "Secretary" Carter, whose portrait hangs in the House of Burgesses in Williamsburg.
