  * In Wilkes Co., Ga. is a village named Prather, Ga., but this did not exist until the late 1800's. It was named by the Eastern/Elberton Rail Road, because of a Station stop placed at the Prather Plantation/Farm. This stop was used to pickup Cotton from the Plantation/Farm. Today (1989) the villiage only consist of a few small homes and does not even have a sign to tell you its Prather, but it is on major maps.
