- LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF HENRY P. PRATHER:
In the Name of God, Amen,
I Henry P. Prther, of Greencastle, in the County of Franklin and State of
Pennsylvania, do make and publish, this as and for my last Will and Testament,
hereby revoking and making void all former Wills by me at anytime heretofore
made.
And First. - I direct all my just bebts and funeral expenses and the expenses
of settleing my Estate, to by fully paid and satisfied by my Executor, out of
my personal estate, as soon as conveniently may be.
Second. - All my property and estate, which I may have at the time of my
decease, whether real, personal, or mixed, I give, devise and bequeath as
follows, Viz:
I give and devise all my real Estate, wheresoever situate, with the
appurtenances, to my beloved Wife Elizabeth, to have and to hold, to her,
for and during the term of her life.
And I also give to my said Wife Elizabeth, all my personal property, of every
kind, as will choses in action and money, or tangible articles, to be owned,
used and enjoyed by her for and during the term of her life; to be received
and held by her without security to protect remaindermen.
Third. - At and upon the death of my said Wife Elizabeth, I order and direct
my Executor to pay to my daughter Elizabeth M. Prather the sum of Five Hundred
Dollars ($500.), and to my daughter Annie M.C. Prather the like sum of Five
hundred Dollars ($500.) Which I hereby bequeath to them respetively.
Fourth.- And all the rest, residue and remainder of my Estate, real and
personal, I give, devise and bequeath to my seven (7) children, namesly;
Samuel H. Prather, Martha W. Strickler, Elizabeth M. Prather, Annie M.C.
Prather, Louisa Campbell, Harry R. Prather, and Rush C. Prather, share and
share alike; to them, their heirs and assigns.
And Lastly, I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my son, Samuel H.
Prather, to be the Executor of this my last Will and Testament.
In Witness Wereof, I, Henry P. Prather, the Testator, have to this my last
Will and Testament, set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of August A.D.

as and for his last Will and Testament, in the presence of us, who have
herunto subscribed our names, at his request as witnesses therto, in the
presence of the said Testator and of each other

CODICIL:
I, Henry P. Prather, the above named Testator, do make and publish this
Codicil to be added to my last Will & Testament, dated 15 August 1879, as
follows,
In addition to the bequests hereinbefore given to my daughters Elizabeth M.
and Annie M.C. I also give them all of my household and kitchen furniture
(except the larger Eight day Clock which was my Fathers), to hold together and
in common, and the said Eight Day Clock, I give and bequeath to my son
Samuel H. Prather.
In witness Wherof, I have to this codicil set my hand and seal this twenty
eighth day of March AD 1884.
CODICIL NO. 2:
To my will dated 15 August 1879, I H.P.Prather, publish this as the second
codicil to my last Will and Testament as follows:
In place of my son Samuel H. Prather, who has died since the making of my
Will, I appoint R.C.Prather, Executor of this my last Will and its Codicils,
giving to my said son R.C. Prather the same power and duties as were conferred
by me upon my said son Samuel H. Prather
Witness my hand and seal the Third day of February AD 1890.
The family tradition of this branch of the family is to name the first born
son Henry. This began with Henry Pawling Prather II.
