Notes - Albert was a Private in Comlpany F, 39th Indiana Volunteers, in 1863 became
the 8th Indiana Cavalry.
Albert was discharged after 3 yrs. enlistment on 23 Sept., 1864.
He had been severely injured earlier and never completely recovered;
he was granted a Pension in 1875 and died shortly after.
When he died his children were raised by aunts and other family members.
Albert and his cousin Basil R. Prather enlisted at the same time and both
became privates in the same company.
Basil R. Prather died on Dec. 19, 1864 while in the hospital in Annoplis, Md.
