  She was living with her daughter Mary Ann (Prather) Hewitt in the 1850 census. We are not sure of her last name, other researchers have stated her name as Unk. I have often wondered if this was short for the word "Unknown" and was misunderstood by someone reading the old records. G.B.Prather Other reseachers have reported that her last name could have been Tharpe & she had Indian in her blood line. I have found no documents that indicate her last name or blood line.
