  • Notes
    • Frank was a Deputy Sheriff in Arizona.
He married Sadie Patterson about 1890, taking her to the church on hourse
      back.
They were married on the steps of St. Xavier Mission, Tucson, AZ.
They couldn't marry inside because they weren't Catholic
Frank and Sadie later divorced (ca. 1896) and Sadie ran a milinary shop in
      Tucson, AZ.
She later moved to Salt Lake City, Ut. so that her daughter could receive a
college education at Brigham Young College. (They were not Mormon; that was
the only school available to women then.)
Frank and Sadie apparently remained friends. He sent support for his daughter,
who said the reason for the divorce was Frank's hours. He would leave for work
at 8 a.m. and return a month later - no phones, no communicastion. Sadie
      couldn't take the waiting.
In 1901 Frank went after a group of ourtlaws who had escaped from prison.
He found then in a cave, went in after them. He captured all three but was
      shot in the stomah.
After he got them back to Tucson he retired. Six months later he went to San
Francisco, Ca. for treatment of his wounds, which were not healing properly,
and died there in 1902 at the age of 42.
Sadie died 8 years later of blood poisoning from a rosebush. She was 46.
