  Alexander moved sometime between 1870 and 1878 to Mason Co.,Tx. from Hall Co., Ga. with him was at lease one older brother, Aaron Prater. Their fathers estate was distributed to them in Mason Co.,Tx. in 1878. By 3 June 1880 the family was in Collin Co.,Tx. and by Apr. 1883 Alexander (A.P.) was dead. At least one son Levi later lived again in Hall Co.,Ga./ He and father-in-law served and deserted from Co.L,38th Reg.,Ga.Volunteer Inf. Evan's Brig.,Gordon's Div.,Wrights Legion,Army of Northern.
