  Jefferson Co., Ala. 9 May, 1827 p.222 John L. Praytor and wife Elizabeth to Elisha Cockerham, E 1/2 of SW 1/4. Section 27, township 15, Range 1 east. Recorded 30 Dec., 1831 p.77 John L. Praytor bought from Wm. Hunt , 21 Feb., 1831 Orphans Court Record, 1824. p. 148 Richardson Frazier applied for letters of Administration on the estate of John L. Praytor, deceased. He left no widow and the next of kin refused adm. on the estate. Oct., 1834. p. 154 Lewis Frazer, guardian of Polly, Anderson, Middleton, and William Praytor, infant children of John L. Praytor, deceased. (note: Lewis Frazier was the grandfather of Elizabeth Frazier, widow to John L. Praytor) Lewis Fraziers son Lewis Frazier Jr. was father to Elizabeth. NOTE: John L. Praytors other children may have been living in the household of Richardson Frazier. 1840: / He must have living on his fathers Plantation, "The Cedars" , which stands today about 1 mile east and one mile south of the township of Sumter, Sumter Co., Ala. In the 1840 census he is recorded living in no township but in the county boundry of Sumter Co., Ala.
