Marriages from Records 1830/35: Prater, Joseph to Aane Ann Wall 29 Jan., 1832 (1830 GA. census shows Wm.M.Prater residence with 2 males 20-30 yrs of age in Elbert Co. 1840 GA. census shows Josiah established in his own head of household in Elbert Co. There are two males in his household. One is between 20-30 and one between 30-40. Josiah states he was born in 1802 S.C. 1850 GA. Census says he is in Henry Co., GA. in the 42nd. Dist. His age is given at 48 yrs. Wife: Jane and his children are also listed. 1860 GA. Census he is back in Elbert Co., with his family and he continues on in Elbert Co. census thru 1880. There is no record of him after that but his children stay on in the county until they died.
