    • On Feb., 2, 1650 George Prater was granted administration of his father's
      estate.
Ann Prater, wife of George Prater, on 25 March 1651, claimed a fifth part of
her husband's estate which had been sequested for recuanncy. Ann states she is
a Protestant and was not against Parliament. Her petition was granted. Ann had
been granted -L40 a year by her father-in-law Richard Prater and on 1 May 1651
she petitioned for discharge of the sequestration on her jointure of -L40 a
year, which was to be charged to the manors of Nunney Castle and Nunney
Glaston. The County Committee was to examine and cerify.
On 2 Oct., 1651 Ann Prater petitions she be permitted to make oath as to her
jointure, to the County Commettee. The County was to take her oath and report
to Brereton who was to make a report. Breteton's report was not found.

George Prater, Feb, 1653, petitioned to the County Committee stating that King
Charles I, on 23 June 1645, made a garrison of Nunney Castle. George states he
was living there with his father, Richard but did not take up arms. Richard
Prater surrendered Nunney Castle on 20 September 1645, and his two years ago,
were returned a Papist in arms, which he nevery was. Richard Prater was buried
at Nunney Chapel on 28 Oct. 1649. George, in his petition, says his father
died 2 years earlier therefore the date given above as Feb. 1653 sould be
Feb., 1651. George petitions that if he is found not guilty of being a Papist
and bearing arms, he be allowed to compound for 1/5 of his estate.
      Georges petition was not allowed.
