  !2nd son,created Baron by Pat.28 Sep.1553,restored in Honor and in Blood by Act of Parl.10 Oct 1553.never married.He spent most of his life in prison for political reasons,he crossed the seas to stay free but took sick and died,under suspicion of poison,which is commonly said of kings and great men.He was suspected of favoring the Lutheran church,Papist don't like that.This Earl as it appeared,was born to be a prisoner;for from 12 years of age to almost 30,at which age he died,he had scarce 2 years of liberty.He was te 12th and last Earl of Devonshire of that noble family,2nd Marquis of Exeter,and 15th Baron of Okehampton.
