• Notes

  Upon arriving in Texas, Calvin and his family settled on a farm near Corinth, Tx. At one time, Calvin moved his family to Livingston, TX. for the winter. In latger years, his son Frank said they moved because "the grass was greener, and they could feed their livestock better". The family lived, camped, hunted and fished in the area known as the Big Thicket. Calvin became sick with yellow jaundice and died in 1893. After his death his wife and children moved back to Van Zandt Co., TX.
