• Notes

  On Mar. 18, 1816 William Prather went to court to obtain a license to keep a tavern at his house in Hardinburg, Ky. Licenses were renewed annually. The request was granted. (ref. Co. Court minute book #2 abstracted in Breckinridge Co., Ky. records Vol. #III.) also on Mar., 18, 1816 William Prather Jr. paid $25 tithable (taxable) property taxes for the year 1815 when he was prevented from makeing the payment. He was listed as "one white male over 21". William Prathers Will list: Wife Elizabeth, her son John Haile, & "my children". Witnessed; Wm. James & James Marshall. (ref. Breckinridge Co., Records, Vol.#IV.) It looks like he had other children by his wife Elizabeth.
