Note: James went to school in Brunswick Co., Va. , migrated to N.C. and from
there to Maury Co., TN., in 1836. He married Elizabeth Robards.
Their son, Dr. James H. Wilkees, Jr. , of Columbia, Tn. 1838-1914, a medical
officer in the Confed. States Army, attended General Nathan Bedford Forrest
when he was shot by one of his fellow officers in Columbia in 1863.
