  Benjamim was a Private in Co. G, 29th Reg, Indiana Volunteers. He was wounded May 25, 1863, at Vicksburg, Ms. He received a gunshot wound on the right side of his head which fractured his skull. He was in the field hospital 28 days at the convalescent camp at Milliken's Ben, Ms. He was in the soldier's Home in Indianapolis, Ind for one week and the New Albany, Ind. hospital until Oct., 1863. He went to Louisville thru Nov. 1863, then returned to his regiment at New Xenia, Western Louisiana. He was dropped from pension records Nov., 23, 1906.
