  He first came to Callaway Co.,Mo. with his parents in 1832 and the following year move to Boone Co.,Mo. where he built a log cabin and cleared land for farming. During the Civil War he was drafted in the State Militia --- but he hired a substitute, thus he did not serve. He was a member of the Christ.Ch He was the first Postmaster appointed to the City of Armstrong, Howard Co., MO in 1878.
