      a farm 4 miles North of Columbia where he lived the remainder of his life.
      He was a member of the Christian Church but his wife was a Methodist.
      He served in Capt. Davenport's Company, Confederate Army during the last year
      of the Civil War. He was a member of the Knights of Honor.
      He was a partner in the Livery Stable business of Montrief & Prather and a
      partner in a large cattle operation with his brother-in-law.
