  !LDS film gives his m. to Elizabeth Mayfield Aft 1840. He served along with William Hubbard (Prvt.) and John Hubbard (Prvt.) in McWillie's 2nd. Regiment South Carolina Militia, Capt. Robert Caldwell's Company in the War of 1812. Phillip Prater was a Corporal. (His name is spelled Prater, Prator & Pratter in the records). Phillip and his family moved to Ky. then TN. sometime around 1813/14. He farmed and ran an Inn, where they served families headed to "new lands".
