  In a letter from John Prater, son of Ronald S. Prater 2/16/2001: In 1940 they married, and almost immediately seperated for over 5 years, as war intervened. My father served in North Africa, the Holy Land, and Italy. He returned home in 1946, and I was born in 1947 and my brother Robert Christopher was born in 1952. My father worked as a civil servant in Reading. In 1960 he was transferred to Portsmouth, so the family moved there.
