Notes - John moved from Ky. to Okla. and settled near Leon, Okla., his son Grissom
was born there. Later he moved to Ft. Worth, TX.
On May 12, 1894, J.S.Prather, Mr. Madsen, and Louis Eichoff arrested Felix
Young. Ten days later, those three men and several others trailed and arrested
o;utlaw Vic Casey. Casey was wounded during his arrest and died before he
stood trial.
On Nov. 24, 1894, four men attempted to rob the Panhandle Express at Canadian,
Tx. but botched the job. Prather, Eichoff, Madsen, and William Banks followed
the would-be robbers and arrested them, apparenty with no resistance.
In April, 1895, the Bill Dooin gang held up the Rock Island train at dover,
near Kingfisher, Okla.
Prather and Banks wsere among the several men in the posse which trailed them.
They caught up with the gang, and in a sharp gun battle, outlaw "Tulas Jack"
was killed.
