  RE: The old Prater Mill Book: THE OLD PRATER MILL by Albert Duncan, Published by Duncan-Everden Inc. 4507 Brendonshire Ct. Flint, Mich 48532 cw 1990. The author is the only surviving Miller, of many, who worked for the Prater Mill Co. which was established 1850/5, located about 10 miles Northeast of Dalton, Ga. on Hwy 2. The Prater Mill is now on the Register of Historic Places as the first business built in the county. Amanda was daughter of John Pitner and Sara McGaughee of Whitefield Co., Ga.
