Notes - Eli moved his family from N.C. to Hazelton, Ks. in Nov. of 1890.
His father and other sisters had moved there between 1888/1889.
Eli came to Hazelton by train (Southern Pacific).
In 1893 he and his family including one brother made the "RUN" into Okla.
when they opened the Cherokee Territory. They started there "run" at
Honneywell, Ks. and "staked" his claim near Eddy, Okla.(near Billings,Okla.)
He later traded this land for a General Store where he conducted business
for severial years. A Tornado destroyed the store, then he went to Saratoga,
Okla. and a place called "Lookout". (this is near Alva, Okla.)
All of his children but the youngest Carl was born in Cedar Bluff, Tazewell
Co., Va. Carl was born at Lookout, Okla. and died there 8 years later.
