!Dau.and sole heiress.She was stil underage 23rd April 1200.She m.1st 1197,Hugh de Ferrers,of Oakham etc. He
died shortly before 15 Aug.1204.By 8 Nov.1205,she was given with her inheritance to Thomas de Galway;but
on 30 June 1207,he was under suspicion,and his bailiffs were ordered to render Richard's Castle to William de Cantilupe.On 18 Aug.the Constable of Chester offered himself as surety fot Galway,and Cantilupe was ordered to deliver the lands and stoc k to the Constable,but to retain Richard's Castle,Stapleton,and Ham Castles.Shortly after,Galway fined 1000 marks that he might have the land of Hugh de Say,and pay 30 marks at Michaelmas
and Easter,and a higher rate afterwards,when he should have the daughter and heir of the said Hugh de Say;by
which it appears that the marriage had not yet taken place.Galway fell into disgrace on account of the King's
quarrel with William de Braose,and was pardoned 3rd Aug.1212. In the meantime,by June 1211,she had married Robert de Mortimer,by whom she had issue. Her 3rd marriage,after 5 Nov.1219,when they had licence,to
William de Stuteville,of Gressinghall,Norfolk,who held her Barony till his death in 1259.

Margaret married Hugh de Ferrers 1197. Hugh was born , of Oakham, Rutland, Lechlade, Gloucester; died Bef 15 Aug 1204. [Group Sheet]
