    Notes:

Stout Lillard formed the Prather Family Assoc., which was a group of
researchers located all accross the USA researching the Prater / Prather
    family genealogy.
It did extensive research, some of which also included contacts with
    other genealogist in England.
He was a member of several genealogy assoc., clubs, etc.
He is responsible for finding what little information that could be
found on those earliest members of our family to be born in America.

After his death, his 2nd. wife tried to sell all of the files that
    Stout had amasted.
I am sure that Stouts intent was to donate the information so that it
could be used freely by those interested in the families history.
This is proven by the many hours and great cost and trouble that he
went to in order to share with those interested when he was still living.
After trying fuitlessly to sell Stouts work, his wife Evea burned all
of his work. Even after the files were asked for by other close members
    of the family.
This selfish act may have cost this family access to much data that can
never be replaced, as many of the original record sources have also been
lost and the only copies were contained in Stouts files.
(re; Bible Records, Courthouse Records lost to fire, Verbal witness
    accounts, etc.)

During Stouts life he communicated with many others and I have made
an effort over these past many years since Stouts death to recover
copies of his correspondance, I have had some success but I am sure
there are many letters written that I have not been able to find.
David Lillard has compiled much of the same work as I have but more
pointed to the Lillard family. He published this work in a few books
that he gave to close members of his family.
Joan Lillard James, a granddaughter of Stout Lillard has a copy of
    this book.
