Her daughter, Nancy Jane Hilt, born August 25, 1922, was my mother. The Carters of Blenheim, by George Selden Wallace and published in 1955, is a treasure trove of the Carter clan from John "Secretary" Carter, whose portrait hangs in the House of Burgesses in Williamsburg.
