    He headed a large cattle drive from

    N.M. to El Paso, Tx., taking his brothers and other ranchers cattle to the
    rail head there. After reaching El Paso he took his share of the profits and
    left, with one of his female students, for Ca./ He sent a message to his
    brothers, telling them to take care of his wife,children,and ranch until his
    return.He did not return and his brother John took his ranch. Sam settled in
    Santa Rosa and assumed his mothers name "Browning" which continues today.

    Notes:

    Buster owned a ranch in Otero Co., N.Mex. He had no children but he adopted
    a girl. Sadly she died young. Buster would take kids that were in trouble and
    put them on his ranch to help them sort out their problems. He also put on
    Rodeos using his livestock. He also supplied livestock to the C.C.A. College
    Cowboy Assn. at N.Mex. S.Univer. He was thought very highly of, and found
    love and respect by the children he helped.
