John PRATHER , b. ca. 1721 in Md.; d. between 1755 and 1760 probably in Maryland, m. Abarilla HYATT, b. ca. 1719 probably in Frederick County, Md., d. April 15 l814, when she was ninety five years old, in South Carolina.
_____This paper is prepared to document that John
and Abarilla lived in Maryland before she moved to South Carolina, also
to determine the time lapse between their being in Maryland and the
first record of her and their children in South Carolina.
_____I believe , but have not proved, that they moved from Maryland to
North Carolina where I believe he died. In time I hope to prove and document
this belief. I find no record of this John PRATHER ever being in South
Carolina. I have found no record of John ever being in North Carolina
and now believe that John died in Maryland.
_____I have a copy of records from the Hall of Records of Annapolis,
Maryland. The last record I have for John PRATHER, who married Abarilla
HYATT, is 7 April 1755 when he sold the last of his land in Maryland to
William Brashear - Liber "E", pp. 705-707 Frederick County,
Maryland. Maryland State Archives, Hall of Records, Annapolis, MD.

_____Since Brice PRATHER was b. ca. 1740, Bazel PRATHER was
b. ca. 1745 and Josiah was b. ca. 1747 I believe the three boys of John
and Abarilla were born in Maryland as I have a copy of a deed from William
PRATHER to his son John PRATHER dated 17 April 1746. The deed contains
the following Between William PRATHER son of William PRATHER of Prince
George's County and Province affors (aid) of the one part and John
PRATHER son of William PRATHER ... of the County affords (aid) of
the other Part - Deed in Liber "EE", pp. 22- 24, Prince
George's County, Maryland. Maryland State Archives, Hall of Records,
Annapolis, MD.
